This Taekwon-Do pendant has a particularly special place in the story of Silver Realm.

I made the original version for myself after searching for a piece of jewellery that reflected my own connection to Taekwon-Do and not finding what I wanted. When other people saw it, they began asking me to make one for them — and those early commissions became part of the beginning of Silver Realm.

The design has evolved alongside my jewellery making over the years. Today's version begins as a piece of sterling silver sheet, with the Korean characters for Taekwon-Do carefully pierced by hand using a jeweller's saw. I then shape and finish the pendant by hand in my Leicestershire workshop before it is sent for UK hallmarking.

The open, pierced design keeps the pendant simple and allows the Korean lettering itself to become the focus.
